ASHA FOUNDATION

A Journey of Compassion, Commitment and Change

2006–2026: Two Decades of Dedicated Service to Animals

Since 2006, ASHA Foundation has been dedicated to the welfare, protection, treatment and care of stray animals and birds across Ahmedabad and its surrounding urban areas.

For nearly two decades, our journey has been shaped by countless experiences—both challenging and rewarding. Through continuous hard work, perseverance and unwavering commitment, ASHA Foundation has remained dedicated to helping animals in distress and giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.

How Can You Help ?

ASHA is funded solely by public donations. Animal lovers, temples, churches, companies and a few local NGOS donate to the foundation. We really appreciate any donations, however large or small.

Our work goes beyond rescue and treatment. We also advocate for the rights, dignity and humane treatment of animals, working towards a society where every living being is treated with compassion and respect.

Specialist Veterinary Care for Different Species

Over the years, ASHA Foundation has developed a strong network of veterinary professionals and specialists who contribute their expertise to the care of animals.

We believe that every species has different medical and care requirements, and therefore, specialised veterinary knowledge is essential.

At ASHA Foundation:

Specialist veterinarians for birds and avian cases are consulted for the treatment and care of birds.
Veterinarians specialising in dogs and small animals are involved in canine medical cases.
Large-animal specialists are consulted for animals such as cows, horses, donkeys, camels and other large animals.
Veterinary professionals with specific expertise are brought in whenever a specialised case requires their knowledge and experience.

ASHA Foundation has also had the opportunity to welcome and work with veterinary professionals from different parts of the world. International veterinarians and specialists, including professionals experienced in small-animal and avian medicine, have visited and contributed their expertise to our work.

When a case requires specialised knowledge, the right specialist is approached for the animal concerned. This approach has been an important part of our commitment to providing appropriate and responsible care.

A New Chapter Begins

After years of dedicated service, we are now moving towards an important new chapter in our journey.
A new, purpose-built shelter is coming soon, designed to provide improved facilities for stray animals and birds, including medical care and a safer, more compassionate environment for animals in need.
At present, our work continues from our existing facility. We will soon officially announce the address and details of our new shelter, marking an important milestone in ASHA Foundation’s journey.
This new initiative is being developed with the valuable guidance and support of Dr. Paul from Poland, a highly experienced veterinary professional who has been voluntarily associated with ASHA Foundation for the past 12 years, providing his expertise and guidance completely free of cost.
His experience, continued guidance and commitment have played an important role in helping us envision and establish this new shelter.

Our Commitment Remains the Same

From 2006 to 2026, our journey has continued with one clear purpose: to protect, treat, care for and stand up for the voiceless.

The new shelter is not simply a new location. It represents a new beginning and a step towards creating a stronger, more organised and compassionate support system for stray animals and birds.

We are grateful to every veterinarian, volunteer, supporter and animal lover who has contributed to this journey and helped ASHA Foundation continue its work over the years.

Facilities may change. Locations may change. But our purpose remains unchanged.

We will continue to stand for those who have no voice.

With gratitude and commitment,
Team ASHA Foundation
